CIPD Learner Stories: Rita Asare

Rita studied the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma with DPG and speaks about her experience and motivations for choosing us in her story below.

I studied the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management with DPG. Currently working as a Junior People Business Partner for a non-profit organisation, I completed my course 100% online, so that I would be able to fit my studies around my full-time work commitments. 

I chose to study this course to further my development within the human resources field as a lot of employers now require individuals to have some sort of human resources certificate/degree. I chose DPG as they provided CIPD-certified courses and seemed like a trusted provider - given their abundance of good reviews.

My overall experience of studying was extremely positive and the course was incredibly insightful, providing me with a strong foundation of HR knowledge.

I found for myself, that monthly check-ins were the most beneficial. However, the course guide and the assessment briefs were very detailed and there was a lot of online tools that I could use to help myself, such as guidance videos and, of course, the brief, which outlined what is expected of you from each module.

The DPG online learning platform is very efficient and the course study material is laid out so that the study material links directly to each question within the assessment brief, which I found incredibly useful! 

As of right now, I'm yet to receive my qualification as I'm currently still in the CIPD moderation window, but I hope that this course will help me further my career within the HR field, allowing me to take up a role with more HR-led responsibilities.

I would recommend DPG because as someone who was paying for the course themselves, while working full time, a priority of mine was to find an online provider that was not only affordable but flexible!

I did most of my studying in the evenings and throughout weekends, in my own time, which of course, DPG allowed me to do.

Lastly, it's also worth mentioning that the DPG student support line has been extremely helpful in addressing any concerns or issues with my assessments, and I always felt matters were dealt with quickly and in a supportive manner.
