To enrol on the PRINCE2 Practitioner course, you'll need to have previously studied the PRINCE2® Foundation course or have an equivalent project management qualification. 

You'll also need good literacy and numeracy skills, and be over 18 years old. 

Throughout the PRINCE2® Practitioner course, you'll learn the advanced skills and knowledge you need to effectively apply the PRINCE2® methodology – and qualify for mid to senior-level project management roles!

You'll cover the advanced elements of project practices, from managing the business case and organising resources to ensuring quality and tracking progress. You'll also learn how to manage risk and related issues, all while keeping projects on track and aligned with organisational goals.

This course also covers the advanced components of project processes, including:

• Starting, initiating, and closing projects
• Managing product delivery and controlling stages

Plus, you’ll get to grips with the project principles in real-world settings, such as:

• Managing by stages
• Focusing on products
• Learning from experience, and
• Tailoring the approach to each project’s unique needs

For the PRINCE2® Practitioner course, you'll be assessed through a proctored 150-minute secure, online PRINCE2® exam. Not to worry though – you'll be allowed to reference your official PRINCE2® manual throughout! 

You'll answer 70 questions and need a score of 42/70 to achieve the 60% pass mark.

It takes most students around 32 hours to complete the online PRINCE2® Practitioner course.

The PRINCE2® 7th Edition Foundation is your introduction to the PRINCE2® project management methodology, covering its core principles, themes, and processes. It's perfect if you're new to project management or looking to build a solid foundation in the PRINCE2® framework.

The PRINCE2® 7th Edition Practitioner course takes your skills further, focusing on how to apply PRINCE2® in real-world projects. Aimed at those with some project management experience, it’s designed to give you the practical knowledge to lead and manage projects with confidence. You must first complete the Foundation before progressing to Practitioner, ensuring you have the essential knowledge to succeed at the next level.

The PRINCE2® 7th Edition was introduced in September 2023 by PeopleCert, offering a more flexible, principle-based approach compared to the 6th Edition.

While the 6th Edition is more process-driven, the 7th Edition offers greater project adaptability, allowing you to focus more on delivering outcomes rather than following rigid processes. The 7^th Edition framework is made up of five integrated elements:

• 7 Principles
• 7 Practices
• 7 Processes
• Project Context
• People 

The key updates from the 6th edition include: 

• A new 'People' element: This addition complements the core principles, processes, and practices (previously "themes"), focusing on the human side of project management.
• Additional topics to suit dynamic organisational shifts: Now covering areas like data and digital management, commercial management, and sustainability.
• Change Management integration: Change management concepts are now woven into the framework, helping you manage project change more effectively.
• Exam changes: A few tweaks to the exam format, including a slight increase in the pass mark to 60%.
• Minor terminology updates: Small changes to process activities and names for clarity.

While these updates have been made, the core of PRINCE2® remains unchanged. The seven principles and processes stay the same, making the 7th Edition a natural evolution that supports better project outcomes in today’s fast-changing world of work.
