What is the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in L&D?

The CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Organisational Learning and Development is an L&D qualification equivalent to an undergraduate degree.

Developed by the CIPD, the Level 5 qualification is the next step for those with some L&D experience or those who have completed their Level 3 course.

The Associate Diploma in Organisational Learning & Development is suited to individuals who are aspiring to, or embarking on, a career in learning and development; are working in a people practice role and wish to extend their knowledge and skills to help shape organisational learning and development; or are working towards or working in an L&D role.

A Level 5 Diploma is designed for learners aged 18+ and you should meet the requirements of the learning outcomes and have the appropriate literacy and numeracy needed to complete the course.

It takes, on average, 12 to 15 months to complete the Level 5 Diploma in L&D, however this will vary depending on the participant.

Yes, you should join CIPD as a Student Member before you submit your first assignment for your Level 5 Diploma. You need to be a member so CIPD can moderate your assignments, award your grades, and give you your qualification – so it’s pretty important!

We’ll explain how to join as a Student Member once you enrol. Bear in mind you’ll pay an annual Student Membership fee to CIPD too.
