CIPD Learner Stories: David Holdstock

David was looking to take his career to the next level when he chose DPG to study his CIPD Level 7 HR course, through blended learning. 

I chose to study this course as I wanted to progress to the next level in my career, and i felt that by being fully CIPD qualified would help me to achieve that.

I chose DPG because I wanted to learn at my own pace, I liked the structure of the course and felt they best suited my learning needs.

Initially I struggled as I was used to classroom learning, however, speaking to the tutors really helped me to believe in myself and gave me tips to help me adjust to the course.

Whenever I need support, they are there to offer really helpful advice. I was honestly really surprised at how quick they get back to me!

I have learnt so much from this course, it has taken me well out of my comfort zone, especially the CPD Unit. It pushes me to do things I wouldn’t have otherwise tried, and the best part I am doing them well.

It’s boosted my confidence, and its making people at senior management level stand up and take notice of me and have a real belief in my capabilities.

The next thing for me is to progress to a more senior HR role, where I can have a much more strategic impact on the business.

I would certainly recommend DPG; tutors are extremely helpful and quick at responding to your questions. When you submit assignments they mark them very quickly, if you happen to fail, you get in depth feedback to resubmit and pass next time.

Additionally, with blended learning, you get access to drop-in sessions where they go through the unit in detail and you also get a chance to ask questions which is very helpful.

To anyone considering distance learning but feeling apprehensive about it, DPG is the training provider for you, the support, and resources they give you is excellent.
