CIPD Learner Stories: Adam Gilroy

Adam chose to take the blended learning route to study his CIPD Level 3 Certificate. Learn more below about his experience.

I chose DPG due to the fantastic relationship my company, Northgate, has with them.

We currently conduct MAP managerial development courses through DPG and we have really positive experiences from the company. The course was also recommended by a previous mentor who attended and loved the course.

I decided to take the CIPD Level 3 Certificate in People Practice to enhance my academic knowledge in Learning and Development (L&D). I've gained a lot of experience over the last five years in my role but felt like I needed to take my knowledge to the next level and start progressing. The course has helped me do this!

I enjoyed the blended learning approach and the atmosphere created by our facilitator. Our group were very close and the course allowed us to develop a network of support through the learning process.

The course has enhanced my knowledge of L&D and has given me the confidence to take my career to the next level. I've made a group of close friends for life and feel much more knowledgeable, and I feel that I truly benefitted from my return on investment and accelerated learning.

My career aspirations are ultimately to become a Learning & Development Manager for an FTSE 500 company. I would like to then progress to HR Director at some stage with further studying.

I would even love to, one day, own my own business developing HR and L&D advice in some capacity.
