In my role as a civil servant, I have completed numerous courses over the years in management and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at different levels. I wanted a course to compliment these, and a HR course was the natural route for personal development.
I chose the Level 5 Diploma in People Management with the hope that this would enable me to gain a high-level qualification in a professional subject to further enhance my portfolio for promotion. I was additionally keen to gain a deeper understanding of people management process’ to not only benefit myself but my organisation.
Throughout the learning process I have developed a greater understanding of how to value employees and what the effects on the organisation could be if they are not valued and natured throughout the employee lifecycle, along with understanding individual needs. I feel this greater understanding will be of huge benefit to my organisation and has allowed me to become more aware of the people working in the organisation.
They had links to numerous resources and a plethora of templates to correctly format assessments. The course tutors and support staff were always on hand to offer advice and guidance and usually replied within a matter of hours via online communication.
I would highly recommend DPG to anyone wishing to study, it’s been an enjoyable experience and the course will aid my path to promotion, I’ve already started looking at further courses to add to my personal development plan.
