CIPD Learner Stories: Daryl Doyle

Daryl is currently studying the Level 7 HR Advanced Diploma to strengthen his knowledge and develop his skills. 

I'm currently studying for the CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management, while working at Nomura as an Early Careers Recruitment Manager. Additionally, I also have HR Business Partner responsibilities I have Human Resource Business Partner responsibilities for a large cohort of junior employees.

I chose to study the CIPD Level 7 as I am looking to take the next step in my career, and I want to be able to better understand the challenges my organisation faces. I hope to develop into a Human Resources professional who thinks strategically and acts with purpose.

I chose to study online with DPG because of their flexible learning options, readily available support from tutors, and after reading positive reviews online.

My tutor has been incredibly supportive throughout my studies, they are easy to reach via mystudyspace, and are always willing to offer support and clarification.

Accessing the learning is easy and can be done from anywhere, the topics and assignments are broken down into sections which allows you to easily navigate through the system and pick up where you left off.

Each unit comes with a useful unit guide which breaks down what is expected from you to complete the assignment. I have also found the announcements and drop-in sessions useful; they help me stay on top of any time sensitive assignments and provide a way to easily access support if needed.

Studying the CIPD Level 7 has helped deepen my understanding of the challenges faced by HR professionals  and has provided me with the knowledge to be able to work effectively across my organisation, continuously thriving to be a versatile and adaptable HR professional.

I hope to be able to use my qualification and the knowledge I have gained initially to support the organisation in my current role, but hopefully move into a more strategic business partner role in the future.
