Charlene Charlie chose to study CIPD Level 3 with DPG to build her confidence, strengthen her people management knowledge and apply leadership principles in her role within the care sector.
I hold a degree in Sociology and my academic background has always given me a strong interest in understanding people, behaviour and how organisations function.
I currently work in the administration department within the care sector. Over time, I realised that although I was confident in my day-to-day duties, I wanted to enhance my knowledge and strengthen my understanding of management and leadership principles.
That desire for growth is what led me to enrol on the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice with DPG.
Working in administration means you are often at the centre of communication, coordination and organisation. I regularly interact with staff, managers and external professionals, and I began to recognise how important effective people management is in maintaining a smooth and supportive working environment.
While I had practical experience, I sometimes felt that I was relying more on instinct and experience than on formal training.
I wanted to back up my experience with structured knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of leadership styles, team motivation, conflict resolution and performance management.
My main goal in studying with DPG was to become more confident and competent in my role.
I wanted to understand the theory behind good management practice and apply it meaningfully in real-life situations. Before enrolling, one of my challenges was handling administrative responsibilities with supporting team dynamics.
The course gave me practical tools and frameworks that I could immediately relate to my work environment.
One of the aspects I appreciated most about studying with DPG was the flexibility of the learning platform.
As someone balancing work and personal responsibilities, being able to study at my own pace made a huge difference. The course structure was clear and easy to follow, and the materials were practical and relevant.
The support was also excellent. Feedback was constructive and encouraging, and it helped me reflect more deeply on my assignments.
Since completing the qualification, I have noticed a real difference in my confidence and approach.
I communicate more effectively, handle challenges with greater professionalism and feel more assured when contributing to discussions involving team coordination and management processes. The knowledge I gained has also helped me improve how I organise tasks, support colleagues and approach workplace issues.
One key lesson I learned is that leadership is not about position. It is about influence, communication and continuous self-development. Studying this qualification has not only strengthened my career prospects but also contributed to my personal growth.
I would definitely recommend DPG to anyone looking to grow professionally while balancing other commitments. Overall, studying with DPG was a supportive, flexible and empowering experience that helped me build confidence in my abilities and take the next step in my professional development.
