I'm a Senior Learning and Development Manager at Fanatics International, primarily looking after our fulfilment operation and contact centre teams. I joined Fanatics just under 3 years ago and worked from Associate to Senior Manager in that time.
I chose to study the CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic Learning and Development and have chosen to take a blended approach. Having a full-time job, plus 2 children under the age of 6, I love self-directed learning and the ability to put down and pick up as it suits me and my life. However, I really see value in the online workshops and the ability to share knowledge and learn from peers across different networks.
I completed a CIPD Level 5 course as an apprenticeship in 2021 which helped me to secure a place as a business partner in my current company. As our business at Fanatics grows, there is an opportunity in the future to expand the scope of the L&D team across the business.
I wanted to study further to support my knowledge and place myself in a position to secure future positions should they arise.
I started studying Module 1 in the middle of February 2024, so I am still relatively new to the programme, but my experience so far has been a positive one from the beginning.
The qualification will support me in looking at our learning and development offer more strategically. It will also build my knowledge and increase my confidence to deliver at a higher level moving forward.
My dream for the future is to gain a more senior role within learning and development such as Director for International.
If you're like Carly and keen to upskill, develop your L&D career with an online CIPD qualification.
