As we settle into a new year, we’re pleased to announce that we’re starting it off with some exciting news.
We’re delighted to announce that we’re now offering Level 5 and Level 7 management and leadership qualifications from the Chartered Management Institute.
The Chartered Management Institute is one of the UK’s leading professional membership bodies for those working in management and leadership positions. Founded in 1947 and gaining its royal charter in 2002, it’s one of the only organisations in the UK that can award prestigious ‘Chartered Manager’ status: one of the top management accolades you can receive.
As a professional body, part of the CMI’s purpose is to safeguard quality and standards in the management profession. One of the ways that they do this is by creating dedicated qualifications that explore the key knowledge, skills and expertise you’ll need for a successful career in management and leadership roles.
They offer a range of qualifications for you to choose from, suited to professionals at all stages of their career: no matter if you’re just starting off and looking to gain your first position through to if you’re at the more experienced end of the career ladder and you’re reaching for more senior roles.
There are a range of CMI qualifications available if you’re interested in improving your management & leadership skills and pursuing a career in the area.
At DPG, we’ve started offering four of CMI’s most popular qualifications from two different levels: Level 5 and Level 7.
These are suited to people who are transitioning into a career in management and those who are already working in the area and want to enhance their skills for achieving more senior positions.
You can study all of our CMI qualifications completely online, giving you the freedom and flexibility to fit your qualification around the demands of your life: whether that’s work, family or other commitments.
CMI Level 5 qualifications are designed for professionals who are willing to study at a level of difficulty that’s slightly above a complete beginner’s level but below an advanced level. You can think of the level as being suited to advanced beginners or people looking to step up into more intermediate management positions.
We offer two qualifications at Level 5: the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management & Leadership and the CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management & Leadership.
The CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management & Leadership explores the vital skills that you’ll need as a manager in entry-level roles. It will help to equip you with the knowledge of best practice principles, management techniques and theory that will form the foundation of the skills you need to be a successful manager in the modern workplace.
You need to complete modules that add up to a minimum of 13 credits or 130 learning hours.
The CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management & Leadership is the ideal qualification to study if you’re already working in management and want to enhance your current knowledge and skillset so that you can work in more advanced management positions successfully. It’s well suited to people currently working in mid-level management positions who want to gain the expertise to advance up the career ladder, and even start on the path to becoming a Chartered Manager.
Over the course of the qualification, you’ll study a broad range of modules covering everything from principles of management, developing teams and managing equality and diversity, through to coaching, using data to inform decisions and managing change.
You’ll choose a combination of modules totalling 37 credits from the list below:
Level 7 qualifications are intended for those professionals who have significant management experience and want to develop their skills to the very highest levels. We offer the Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management & Leadership and the Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management & Leadership. They’ll give you the essential competencies that you’ll need to perform well as a senior manager, director or leader in an organisation.
Studying these qualifications is ideal if you’re looking to gain prestigious ‘Chartered Manager’ status too: after studying the Level 5 Diploma or Level 7 Diploma and gaining 3+ years of management experience, you’ll be able to apply for the status.
You’ll study a combination of modules totalling 14 credits or 140 learning hours from the list below:
The CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management & Leadership is the most advanced qualification that you can take with the CMI. It’s designed for those professionals who have significant, high-level industry experience behind them and who are wanting to take their career to the most developed level.
Studying the Level 7 Diploma can be a great way to prepare yourself for applying for Chartered Manager status, which you’ll be eligible for if you have 3+ years of management experience and you’ve studied at CMI Level 5 or Level 7.
You’ll study a combination of modules totalling 37 credits or 370 learning hours from the list below:
