Since the CIPD Foundation course is designed for newcomers to the people profession, you don't need any previous HR or L&D experience to get started, and there are no formal entry requirements.

We find it takes most students around 7 to 9 months to complete the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate.
However, everyone is different, so bear in mind this might change depending on your circumstances and how much time you have to study each week.
The CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate is made up of 4 modules that cover the key areas of basic HR and L&D:

For every unit you study, you'll complete a written assignment (roughly 4,000+ words). You'll hand these in online where they'll be marked by our assessors and moderated by CIPD.
For your final unit of study, you'll also be asked to conduct a Recruitment Interview, and this must be recorded for submission and assessment.
But don't worry – if you don't pass an assignment the first time, you'll be able to have another go with feedback and advice from your tutor. We’ve got your back!
